Nigeria's English Premier League hotshot, Taiwo Awoniyi will not be making the Super Eagles squads that will tackle the Green Falcons of Saudi Arabia and the Mambas of Mozambique in a double-header friendly in Portugal because of injury.

The striker who has been a sensation with new club, Nottingham Forest since he joined them from Union Berlin last year has been confirmed unavailable for the two games that will hold in the city of Portimao, Portugal on Friday, October 13, 2023 and Monday October 16, 2023.

Reports indicate that due to injury, the former youth international will not be making the trip to Portugal for the two games.

Recent information gleaned from the team's X (formerly Twitter) handle confirmed that the Kwara State-born forward is ruled of the games for health reasons.

Awoniyi had been conspicuously missing when his Nottingham Forest teammates filed out in a Premier League clash against Crystal Palace that ended 1-1.

Although the true extent of his injury is yet to be disclosed, there are however hopes he could return to action sooner than expected.

The Nigerian striker had scored 10 goals to help his newly promoted club stay on in the Premier League.
