For Cristiano Ronaldo, breaking records and winning trophies has become second nature.
It also needs not be gainsaid that he is guaranteed a life of insane luxury and affluence even if he decides to hang his playing boots today.
He currently leads the Forbes Magazine's recent ratings as football's richest footballer with over $1billion coming in from earnings on and off the pitch.
With what he has achieved, a lot of people feel that the Portuguese superstar should not even be bothering himself, going through the punishing regimen of daily trainings at the age of 38. They want him to just hang his boots and call it a day.
But Ronaldo, from recent developments seems not to be disposed to heeding such advice as he has personal goals he has set for himself to reach.
One of those goals is the urge to reach the 1,000 career goals target. Keen Ronaldo followers can bet that the urge to accomplish this target far outweighed monetary considerations when he recently joined the Saudi League.
Yes, he gets paid mouth watering sums of money as salaries and bonuses every week, playing for Al-Nassr, but Ronaldo would love nothing more than to also finish his career with 1000 goals -- an achievement that could set him far apart any of his rivals, including Lionel Messi who is regarded as his superior when it comes to the number of Ballon D'or awards won so far.

He already has over 857 career goals. He needs to score143 goals more to finally reach a millenium of goals he so earnestly targets, and break yet another record.
With the way he watches what he eats and trains, it will be impracticable to suggest that Ronaldo can't reach this target in say, the next two years if he keeps playing for club and country.
