The Technical Adviser of Kwara United, Tunde Sanni,
has confirmed that a few quality players will join the team to strengthen their
squad ahead of the second stanza of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL),
which kicks off on January 25 across various league centres in the country.
Coach Sanni emphasized that a successful league
campaign requires a formidable squad and reliable substitutes on the bench.
Speaking to the club media after resuming from the
Christmas and New Year holiday on Wednesday, following a training session and
friendly game with ABS FC, the Harmony Boys' gaffer stated:
"About two
to four players will link up with us to beef up the team and also provide good
substitutes on the bench," Sanni remarked.
Encouraging football enthusiasts in the state to trust
the team's ability to perform, Sanni noted that all his players are in good
shape, injury-free, and determined to improve on their first-round performance.
Regarding the maintenance of the pitch at the Kwara
State Stadium, Coach Sanni praised Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the
Executive Chairman of the Sports Commission Mallam Bola Magaji, Kwara FA under
the leadership of Mallam Idris Musa Thuraya, and the club's management for
ensuring the lush green condition of the turf despite harsh weather conditions.
"I must say this pitch is one of the best in the
North Central. The green is lush, and its maintenance is excellent. Kudos to
all stakeholders involved in making this happen," he concluded.
Meanwhile, Kwara United played out a 1-1 draw with ABS
FC during the friendly match. The team featured a mix of U-19 players and
trialists as the January transfer window remains open.
