Nigerian Institute of Physics Calls for Greater Investment in Research and Technology

The Nigerian Institute of Physics (NIP) has urged the Federal Government to increase funding for scientific research, innovation, laboratory infrastructure, and technology incubation centres in Nigerian tertiary institutions.

The call was contained in a communiqué issued after the institute's 47th Annual Conference, signed by Godfrey Akpojotor.

According to the institute, several factors continue to limit scientific and technological progress in Nigeria, including:
