The Plateau State government has launched a salary payment app for civil servants in the state. The app, known as “Pay Plateau” was put in place to check sharp practices and reduce the cost of financial administration regarding payment of salaries. The innovation is also expected to play a critical role in the reduction of paperwork, and optimizing processing time for the issuance of documents such as pay slips among others.

The Director General of the Plateau ICT Development Agency (PICTDA), Dominic Datong Gwaman, noted that the development was one of the strategies of Governor Caleb Mutfwang to digitally transform the state.

He stated this while addressing journalists after the launch of the app at the New Government House, Little Rayfield, Jos, the state capital.

Gwaman disclosed that the feat was achieved through the collaboration of the state government with PICTDA and Smart Apps IT Limited. The CEO of Smart App IT Limited, Mr Godwin Odoma thanked Governor Mutfwang and his cabinet for the opportunity to provide services for the state, stressing that the company will do her best to deliver. Odoma described the app as a game changer in accountability and transparency in governance.
