In an exclusive investigation, Just Liberation News
has uncovered significant operational challenges facing Heroshe, a logistics
company facilitating shipments from the U.S., U.K., and China to Nigeria. Over
the past eight months, the company has struggled with severe shipment delays,
leaving numerous customers without their goods and facing financial hardships.
Customer Fallout and Financial Damage
Our investigation reveals that over 500 customers have
been affected by Heroshe's failure to deliver goods months after the expected
delivery date. Many of these individuals are small business owners and online
resellers who rely on timely deliveries to maintain their income streams. Some
customers have taken out loans to fund bulk purchases, only to be left without
goods or explanations, pushing them into financial ruin.
One affected customer, Abdul-Wahab Oyekan, shared his
ordeal:
"I ordered a package in June 2023 that never
arrived. I took a loan to finance this purchase, and now I'm left with debts
and no products to sell."
Another customer, Kalu, a software engineer, reported:
"I ordered a special keyboard in November, and
it's yet to arrive. This delay has forced me to work in pain due to my medical
condition.”
Operational
Struggles: Warehouse Relocation and Customs Issues
Heroshe attributes the delays to several factors,
including a warehouse relocation from Houston, Texas, to Delaware, aimed at
offering tax-free shipping benefits. The transition, however, led to
operational disruptions. Additionally, the company faced challenges securing
cargo flights during peak seasons, further exacerbating the backlog.
In a Q4 2024 report, Heroshe acknowledged these
issues:
"The move has been a learning curve. While we
trained new staff and set up systems, the surge in demand temporarily outpaced
our capacity. This caused delays, but we worked tirelessly to stabilize and
improve operations.”
Compounding the problem, U.S. Customs reportedly
seized some shipments, particularly those containing consumer electronics and
products from My Daily Choice (MDC), rendering them unrecoverable.
Company Response
Heroshe's CEO, Osinachi Ukomadu, addressed the crisis
in a company blog and video message, acknowledging the delays and assuring
customers that they were working to resolve the issues. The company implemented
measures such as enhanced customer communication strategies, including
real-time dashboard notifications, segmented emails, and customer town hall
meetings.
Despite these efforts, many customers remain
skeptical, citing a lack of tangible progress and continued delays.
Possible Shutdown Looms
With widespread distrust, dwindling customer
confidence, and mounting legal threats, there are growing concerns that Heroshe
may soon be forced to shut down entirely or undergo restructuring. Industry
analysts suggest that unless the company can immediately compensate affected
customers and prove its reliability, it may not survive 2025.
