Bako Bala, chairman of the All-Progressives Congress (APC) in the Suru Local Government Area of Kebbi State,
has reportedly been shot dead by gunmen.
Zaidu Bala, the Special Adviser
on Television and Radio to Governor Nasir Idris, announced the news in a
Facebook post, saying Bala was shot on Tuesday but died at the hospital on
Wednesday.
He wrote, “To Allah we belong
and to Him we shall return. Alhaji Bako Bala has died APC chairman of Suru
local government.
“He died after kidnappers
kidnapped him and his family last night where they shot him with gun, he
died now at Medical Centre hospital in Birnin Kebbi. May Allah have mercy on
him.”

Nafiu Abubakar, the police spokesperson in Kebbi, for comments but did not
receive a response to calls or text messages.
