PlayStation 5 users can now use Apple Pay to purchase
games and content directly from the PlayStation Store on their consoles.
Previously, Apple Pay was only available through browsers or the PlayStation
mobile app. This new integration allows for a more seamless checkout experience
on the PS5.
How to Use Apple Pay on PS5:
1.
Select the game or add-on you wish to
purchase on the PlayStation Store.
2.
At checkout, choose Apple Pay as your
payment method.
3.
A QR code will appear on your TV screen;
scan it using your iPhone or iPad.
4.
Complete the transaction on your device
using Face ID or Touch ID.
This feature utilizes a QR code method introduced with
iOS 18, enabling users to complete purchases by scanning a code on their TV
screen with an iPhone, which then opens a checkout screen for transaction
confirmation.
Availability:
Apple Pay support on PS5 is currently available in
select regions, including the United States. There are indications that this
feature may be extended to PS4 consoles in a future software update.
Additional Benefits:
Apple Card users can benefit from a 2% cashback on
these purchases.
