Bayern Munich delivered a dominant performance to set
a new Bundesliga scoring record, moving closer to securing another league
title.
A goal from Leon Goretzka in the 53rd minute marked
Bayern’s 102nd league goal of the season, surpassing the club’s long-standing
record set during the 1971–72 campaign.
Despite resting key players, including top scorer
Harry Kane, Bayern showed no signs of slowing down. Jamal Musiala opened the
scoring early, while Michael Olise, Nicolas Jackson, and Raphael Guerreiro also
found the net in a commanding victory that extended their tally to 105 goals
for the season.
The win puts Bayern 12 points ahead of rivals Borussia
Dortmund, who suffered a 1–0 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen earlier in the day.
With just five matches remaining, Bayern are now on
the brink of clinching the Bundesliga title and could seal it as early as next
week in their home fixture against Stuttgart.
Meanwhile, Leverkusen’s victory over Dortmund came
courtesy of a long-range strike from Robert Andrich, ending Dortmund’s strong
run of form and handing them only their second league defeat of the season.
Elsewhere, RB Leipzig boosted their chances of
finishing in the top four with a narrow 1–0 win over Borussia Mönchengladbach,
thanks to a late goal from rising star Yan Diomande.
At the lower end of the table, Wolfsburg’s struggles
continued with a 2–1 home loss to Eintracht Frankfurt, leaving them dangerously
close to relegation, while Heidenheim kept their survival hopes alive with a
3–1 victory over Union Berlin.
Bayern’s latest achievement not only highlights their
attacking dominance but also reinforces their position as the standout team in
Germany this season, as they edge closer to yet another league crown.
