He stated that he condemned Obi's act because Farotimi
was detained unjustly.
Nigerian human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore has
taken a swipe at Peter Obi over his visit to legal luminary and founder of Afe
Babalola University, Afe Babalola on Monday, December 9.
The visit is said to be in connection with the
defamation case Babalola filed against Obi’s political associate, Dele
Farotimi.
In a post shared on Facebook, Sowore condemed Obi’s
visit.
According to him, Obi and the delegation that visited
Babalola have committed an ‘’unspeakable and despicable injustice in the fight
against judicial corruption.”
He stated that he condemned Obi's act because Farotimi
was detained unjustly.
Sowore wrote:“I strongly condemn those who went to
“beg” Chief Afe Babalola today regarding the unjust detention and persecution
of Dele Farotimi. The delegation led by Mr. Peter Obi has committed an
unspeakable and despicable injustice in the fight against judicial corruption
in our country.
“Obi’s actions feel like forcing Rosa Parks to return
to the back of the bus (of racial injustice) during the Civil Rights era in the
United States. The struggle continues!”
