Delta Police Arrest Community Leader, Four Others Over Ozoro Assault Incident

The Nigeria Police Force in Delta State has arrested the head of Oramudu Quarter in Ozoro following reported cases of sexual assault and molestation of young women during a local event.

Police spokesperson Bright Edafe confirmed that the community leader, identified as Chief Omorede Sunday, along with four other suspects, has been taken into custody.

The incident, which was captured in widely circulated videos, sparked public outrage and drew condemnation from both residents and the Delta State government.

According to Edafe, the Commissioner of Police has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.

He assured that all individuals involved in the incident would be identified, arrested, and prosecuted, emphasizing the command’s commitment to ensuring justice for the victims.
