Following the recent Edo gubernatorial
election, which left many in tears and others celebrating, Shehu Sani has taken
the opportunity to tease his friend, Olumide Osaigbovo Akpata, who contested
under the Labour Party and emerged a distant third.
In the election, Senator Monday Okpebholo of
the All Progressives Congress (APC) clinched victory with 291,667 votes,
narrowly defeating Dr. Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who
garnered 247,655 votes. The result, celebrated by APC supporters, sparked
jubilation across Edo State.
However, Ighodalo has already rejected the
election outcome and is taking the matter to court, leading to mixed reactions
from the public. Amid this controversy, Shehu Sani weighed in with his
thoughts, using the opportunity to make light of the situation.
In a humorous remark, he stated, “Edo
Election; No SAN fit chop my friend Akpata’s money, as e be SAN himself.” His
comment reflects the prevailing sentiment surrounding the election results and
the ongoing legal challenges posed by the opposition parties.
