The Emadeb Energy Group has formally presented the first oil from
the Ibom Field, PPL 236, to Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno,
during a courtesy visit to the Government House, Uyo.
The presentation marked a significant milestone for
the company and the state, symbolising the commencement of production from one
of the region’s most promising marginal fields.
Delegation and Discussions
The Emadeb delegation was led by GMD/CEO, Mr.
Adebowale Olujimi, alongside Executive Director Mrs. Olugbesoye Olujimi,
COO Dr. Segun Ogunsanya, General Manager Technical Mr. Olawale Ayeni,
COO Emadeb Energy Mr. Sheriff Adeeyo, Head of HR Mrs. Uduak Ugbodagah,
and Head of Legal Mr. Jeremiah Achonwa.
During the visit, the team discussed potential
collaboration opportunities with the state government, including:
Mr. Olujimi expressed gratitude to Governor Eno and
the state government for their support in creating a conducive business
environment, noting that the success of the Ibom Field underscores the
potential of Akwa Ibom and Nigeria at large.
Governor’s Response
Governor Eno welcomed the delegation warmly,
expressing enthusiasm for the proposed partnerships. He reaffirmed the
state government’s readiness to support all initiatives from Emadeb Energy and
highlighted opportunities for joint investment in the development of the Ibom
Field.
He commended the company’s commitment to sustainable
development and community welfare, assuring that the state’s doors are open
for engagement on all ideas and proposals.
Technical and Economic Significance
The Ibom Field produces sweet light crude with an
assay of 33.8 API, and its development is expected to generate state
revenue, jobs, and economic growth. The presentation of the first oil and a
commemorative plaque to the Governor concluded the visit, marking the start of
a promising partnership between Emadeb Energy Group and the Akwa Ibom State
Government.
The historic visit is seen as a major step towards
leveraging the state’s energy resources for the socio-economic development
of Akwa Ibom and its people.
