Ex-Convict Arrested for Alleged Burglary of Seven Shops in Ondo State

An ex-convict recently released from prison over a burglary conviction has been arrested again for allegedly breaking into several shops along Agbaluku-Arigidi Road in Akoko North West Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The suspect was reportedly apprehended by soldiers stationed at Semusemu Junction in Ikare-Akoko around midnight while patrolling the Agbaluku–Arigidi Road area.

According to a source cited by the Hope Newspaper, the suspect allegedly broke into seven shops in the area and stole goods valued at approximately ?1 million.

Soldiers conducting routine night surveillance intercepted the suspect and took him into custody before questioning him.

During interrogation, the suspect reportedly confessed to the crime and admitted that he had previously been jailed twice for burglary-related offences.

Following the preliminary investigation, the soldiers handed the suspect over to the Ikare Area Command of the Police for further investigation and potential prosecution.
