Finally, DHQ reacts to ‘alleged’ arrest of bandits’
kingpin Bello Turji
Following recent social media reports claiming the
arrest of wanted terrorist leader Bello Turji by troops from Operation Fasan
Yamma in the North West, the Nigerian Defence Headquarters has swiftly
dismissed these reports as false and misleading.
The Defence authorities have called on the public to
disregard the trending rumors, emphasizing that they are nothing more than fake
news.
In a statement issued by the Director of Defence Media
Operations, Major General Edward Buba, he strongly refuted the claims, stating,
“All news regarding the alleged arrest of Bello Turji by troops should be
treated as fake news. The public is urged to ignore these reports and refrain
from spreading unverified information.”
Bello Turji, known for his involvement in various
terrorist activities in the region, remains at large, and authorities continue
to work diligently to apprehend him.
However, the Defence Headquarters assured the public
that such misleading stories would not deter ongoing operations aimed at
securing the region and bringing criminals to justice.
