In the early hours of Tuesday, April 16, unknown
gunmen reportedly launched an attack on the family home of Senator Natasha
Akpoti-Uduaghan in the Obeiba-Ihima community, located in Okehi
Local Government Area of Kogi State.
According to security expert Zagazola Makama,
the armed assailants, wielding guns and cutlasses, stormed the residence
at around 1:00 a.m., damaging parts of the building, including
shattering several windows.
The senator’s Chief Security Officer, Yakubu
Ovanja, immediately reported the incident to law enforcement. In response,
officers from the Okehi Police Division arrived at the scene to secure
the area and begin preliminary investigations.
Fortunately, no casualties were reported, and there
were no injuries during the attack. However, no arrests have been made
as of the time of this report.
The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and the senator
has not yet issued an official statement. Authorities have confirmed that
investigations are currently ongoing to uncover those responsible and determine
the reason for the assault.

Central in the National Assembly, and this incident has stirred
concern among residents and political observers in the region
