Tony Okocha, a member of the APC in Rivers State, has spoken about the recent housing projects
near the
Rivers State airport.
In a video shared by TVC from 15:40,
Okocha said these houses are not up to modern standards. He described them as
shanties and stated that for a state like Rivers, such projects are
unacceptable. Okocha also shared his personal
experience of visiting one of the houses, where he had offered to buy one for ?60
million.
In Okocha’s words: “If you take the shortest
route now to the airport and you see the shanties that the governor of Rivers,
Fubara, is building as a PPP you will cry. That is the inlet and outlet of the
state, if you see that kind of structure you will cry. Because I like to have
my personal information, I went there to offer to buy one of the houses which
they sell for 60 million naira. I said open the place and they opened it. I
looked at the room, this space we are sitting in will make two of the rooms there”.
