*_..As Screening, Selection For European Football Exhibition Tour Gets Extension_*
Following the conscious effort of the Imo State Sports Commission Chairman, Prince Sir Eleazar Onyewuchi Ogbonna "Ambassador" and the State Commissioner for Sports, Youth and Social Development, Hon Evarestus Obinna Onyeocha to give Imolites massive opportunity to benefit from the ongoing Talent Hunt screening exercise for the European Football Exhibition Tour, the exercise has been graciously extended.
This was disclosed through the Chief of Staff to the Imo State Sports Commission Boss, Hon Lawrence Okoye who further noted that formidable synergy between the Commission and Sports Ministry engineered by Hon Onyeocha and Prince Ogbonna has made the programme seemless.
Explaining further to the Sports Commission's Media, Hon Okoye said the screening exercise which has since been moved to the Old Township Stadium on Tetlow road, Owerri will start by 10am from Monday to Friday for three weeks
He urged young and talented football players in the state who dream to play professional football abroad to avail themselves of the golden opportunity noting that the trip will be embarked upon in July.
"You would recall that the first phase of this exercise was done last year and in their magnanimity and in line with His Excellency's diversified Youth Empowerment programme especially in Sports, the Sports Commission Chairman and the Sports Commissioner has graciously decided to extend the screening to give a good number of Imolites who are talented the opportunity to express their talents for selection.
The screening which was originally slated to last for one week according to Home Okoye has now been extended to last for Three weeks adding that selected will also be camped for further training and mentorship while processing of their documents.
