Religious tolerance was the central theme as The Brotherhood of the Cross and Star held their inter religious conference with the theme-In brotherhood We Stand on Wednesday 26th of June 2024. The event which took place at Merit House Maitama had speakers from all walks of life and members of the brotherhood all over the world in attendance and in the platform of social media.
In his opening address, Chairman of the event His Excellency Alh. Abdulsalam Paxman Ekpuze, the Director, Inter Religious Affairs United Nations-POLAC Nigeria said that brotherhood is the highest form of relationship.
He charged those present to always seek religious tolerance in all they do.
The keynote speech at the event was delivered by PCS Ogar Osim the MD BCS Starcross tv.
In a speech titled- In Brotherhood We Stand, he said that brotherhood was deeper than family ties. He added that man lost his brotherhood in the garden of Eden and that it is very important for man to re-trace his step. He said that the solution to the challenges the world is facing in every continent is in our brotherhood. "We must strive to eliminate artificial barriers that divide us and come together in brotherhood." He said.
During the panel discussion, which had several speakers from different field of human endeavour. Some of the speakers include Ambassador Fanny Amun (MON) MD Editor in Chief Just Liberation News TV, radio, newspaper and online, Dr. Aminu Kambari and Mrs. Rahmat Dadi Hogan.
In his brief speech, Prof. Ahmed Bello Dogarawa talked about the brotherhood in Islam and the benefits of brotherhood concerning the different religions.
Amb. Fanny I. Amun (MON) said that sport is a veritable tool for evangelism and national unity. "Sports open doors that politics cannot. International competitions like the Olympics, FIFA World Cup and All African games are open avenues to evangelize".He charged the leadership of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star to take sports seriously and start a sporting competition amongst its members.
