The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB)
has announced the restoration of its Central Admissions Processing System
(CAPS), saying the platform is now fully operational.
In a statement on Monday, the board urged tertiary
institutions to speed up their admission processes to make up for time lost
during the temporary disruption and ensure they meet the approved deadlines.
JAMB also advised candidates who receive admission
offers to accept them promptly to avoid delays in the admission process.
For the 2026/2027 admission exercise, public
universities have until October 31, 2026, to conclude their admission
processes, while private universities have been given until November 30,
2026.
The board also called on candidates who were
previously waiting for their examination results to upload or verify their
credentials following the release of the 2026 NECO Senior School Certificate
Examination results.
According to JAMB, updating the credentials will
ensure that candidates' results are available for consideration as institutions
intensify their admission exercises.
The board urged candidates, institutions and other
stakeholders to take advantage of the restored CAPS platform and proceed with
the admission process within the approved timelines.
JAMB expressed regret over the inconvenience caused by
the temporary disruption and thanked candidates, institutions and other
stakeholders for their patience and understanding.
