The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, has
arrived in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital city.
Modi was received by the Federal Capital Territory
Minister, Nyesom Wike.
The Indian Prime Minister who is on a state visit,
will meet President Bola Tinubu on Sunday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The event will mark the first visit by an Indian prime
minister to Nigeria in nearly two decades.
According to a statement released by presidential
spokesman Bayo Onanuga on Saturday, during their meeting, President Tinubu and
Prime Minister Modi will hold bilateral discussions aimed at strengthening the
relationship between Nigeria and India. Both leaders are expected to address
various areas of cooperation, including trade, investment, technology, and
cultural exchanges.
“Both leaders will exchange signed Memoranda of
Understanding (MOUs) to enhance collaboration in critical sectors,” the
statement said.
