Mighty Jets International Under-19 Team ended the unbeaten runs of Abubakar Bukola Saraki FC in the city of Jos in the ongoing Nigeria Youth League Cup, beating them 1-0.

ABS FC had beaten Joecas FA and held Plateau United U-19 team to a 1-1 draw before the end to end encounter against a Mighty Jets U-19 team that just returned from Kano a day before where they lost to Kano Pillars U-19 team 3-2.

Mighty Jets U-19 team got their only goal in the 76th minute after the outstanding ABS FC goalkeeper, who stood between Mighty Jets U-19 team and goals, brought down Mighty Jets’ Prince Gobum in the 18 yard box which the referee had no choice but to award a penalty to Mighty Jets,  which was neatly converted by Samson Adedayo.

Reacting after the very interesting but explosive match, the Chief Coach of ABS FC U-19 team,  Taofeek Babatunde: “Mighty Jets is a very good side and I must commend the performance of both sides not showing the sign of fatigue at all, considering the fact that our opponents, Mighty Jets travelled to Kano on Monday, played on Tuesday, came back to Jos up Wednesday and played us on Thursday and likewise my boys too who played against Joecas FA on Tuesday, played Plateau United FC on Wednesday and battled it out with Mighty Jets on Thursday which is yesterday! The boys know that this Youth League is a very big platform to move abroad and fulfil their dreams that’s why you see them put all their best and every seriousness and commitment into each match they play.”

Coach Taofeek Babatunde, who played in Jos for Plateau United FC during his active years and captaining Plateau United to their first ever trophy at the National level when they won the National Challenge Cup when they won the trophy beating Iwuayanwu Nationale 1-0 at the finals in 1999 at the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos, concludes: “This league am sure will surely move Nigeria football into the next level. I want to commend the organizers for a job well done.”

Mighty Jets International Under-19 Team, after putting an end to the unbeaten runs of ABS U-19 team in Jos, will be traveling to Ilorin as they will be battling it out with Kwara Football Academy on Tuesday by 10am.
