The Group Managing Director of Navy Holdings Limited,
Rear Admiral Hamza Ibrahim, has announced plans to restructure the company's
subsidiaries to improve efficiency, transparency, and profitability.
Speaking in an interview with the News Agency of
Nigeria (NAN) in Suleja, Ibrahim said the organisation, which oversees 11
subsidiaries across Nigeria, is implementing reforms aimed at strengthening
management structures and maximising productivity.
According to him, a dedicated land administration
department has been established to tackle irregularities and improve oversight.
He also disclosed that the company is digitising its operations to enhance
transparency, accountability, and payment monitoring.
"We are creating clear visibility in our
operations and ensuring that no payment is made into personal accounts,"
he said.
Ibrahim stressed that improving the welfare of
Nigerian Navy personnel remains a priority, noting that better welfare
translates into higher morale and improved operational effectiveness.
Focus on Blue Economy and Job Creation
The Navy Holdings chief revealed that the organisation
intends to play a significant role in Nigeria's blue economy initiative through
marine and fisheries projects, including the proposed Ibom Fish City project.
He explained that the concept was inspired by Egypt's
achievements in fish production and is awaiting the necessary government
approvals before implementation.
Ibrahim also highlighted plans to unlock the potential
of key subsidiaries, particularly the Naval Dockyard, with the goal of creating
between 1,000 and 2,000 jobs.
Resolving Disputes Through Dialogue
Addressing inherited disputes involving contractors
and the organisation, Ibrahim said efforts are ongoing to resolve outstanding
issues amicably.
"I believe there is no problem that cannot be
resolved through dialogue," he stated.

Beyond his official duties, Ibrahim spoke about his
passion for community development through the Foundation for Human Capacity
Development and Innovation.

challenges but emphasized that meaningful community impact often requires
personal sacrifice.
Among the projects he is most proud of is the
renovation of Angwan Juma Primary School in Suleja, which included the
refurbishment of classrooms, staff offices, and the provision of furniture.
