Nigerian forward and Deportivo La Coruña women’s team
star, Blessing Nkor, paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of Ondo State, Hon.
Lucky Aiyedatiwa, on Monday in Akure, following an impressive debut season in
Spain.
During the visit, Nkor presented the governor with an
official Deportivo La Coruña jersey, specially customized with his name,
“AIYEDATIWA,” boldly inscribed on the back.
The symbolic gesture was in appreciation of the
governor’s support for sports development in the state and as a tribute to her
Ondo roots.
The young striker was one of Deportivo La Coruña’s
standout performers in the 2024/2025 season, making waves in her first year in
Spanish football with key goals and assists that helped her team secure a top
finish.
Governor Aiyedatiwa commended Nkor for being a good
ambassador of the state and Nigeria, encouraging her to remain focused and
continue making the nation proud on the international stage.
Blessing Nkor’s rise from grassroots football in
Nigeria to European spotlight continues to inspire many young female
footballers across the country.
