The Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Nationwide
League One (NLO) Mr Shola Ogunnowo has assured football stakeholders that the
league will wear a new look next season.
Ogunnowo made the assurance while speaking with
journalists at the sidelines of the Ilorin Fitness Festival in Ilorin over the
weekend.
The versatile and experienced football administrator
revealed that league has further expanded its scope beyond Nigeria having
struck partnership with foreign partners expected to come in the new season.
“I can assure you from next season that a lot will be
happening again. We are beyond Nigeria, we have a lot of foreign partners, so
next year we are expecting two foreign partners to join us again” Ogunnowo
said.
He further stated that the application of technology
in the league has enhanced its administration and also eradicated some of the
problems.
“Our partnership with Sofascore ensured that all the
matches result and goalscorers for the whole world to see, we are the only
league doing this in Nigeria” he said.
While affirming that 75% of matches played in the
league are available on YouTube to help project the players and the league
itself to the world, he added that the target for next season is to increase
the broadcast of the game to 90%.
Ogunnowo however added that more equipment and
facilities will be put in place to improve the output of the league in the
