Algier (Core Reporters) The Chairman National Sports
Commission (NSC) Mallam Shehu Dikko has canvassed for greater collaborations in
sports between Nigeria and the Republic of Algeria, saying that the
collaboration between the two countries is aimed at advancing sports in
addition to the existing cordial commercial relationships.
Dikko and some executives of Association of National
Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA) and International Olympic Committee (IOC)

Tebboune, at the State House, Algiers, Algeria where delivered President Bola
Tinubu ‘s goodwill message to the Algerian President and the people of Algeria.

things in their domestic sports through deliberate and focused investment
across all sports and we would be collaborating more closely accordingly. There
is a lot that both countries can do together in sports particularly considering
our new RHINSE disposition where we are resetting, refocusing and relaunching
Nigerian sports.
“With the tremendous strides Algeria is making in
sports as I noticed during this visit, there are a lot of similarities to what
we are planning to do with Nigerian sports. This General Assembly was really an
eye opener to further opportunities that exist and we are always open to
engagements and collaborations as we drive towards this sports economy mandated
by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR. So this collaboration is very timely.”

President of the Republic of Algeria for his immense contributions towards the
advancement of sports in Africa while the President took time to detail his
vision for sports in Algeria and Africa in general.
Notable is the very intentional and deliberate work

infrastructure as a key part of deepening internal security and wealth creation
with a sports sector budget that ranks among top 5 in the country (ranked 2nd).
