The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial
Crimes Commission, EFCC, Mr. Ola
Olukoyede has cautioned youths in the
country against the allure of ill-gotten wealth, describing it
as road to self-destruction.
He gave the admonition at the sensitisation
lecture organised by the Kaduna Zonal Directorate of the EFCC for the
new students of the AirForce Institute of Technology, (AFIT), Mando,
Kaduna.
Speaking through CSE NANA Fatima Abubakar of
the EFCC’s Public Affairs Department in a lecture
titled: “Over view of the Economic and Financial Crimes
Commission," Olukoyede stated that “hard work and integrity are the
pathways to sustainable means of livelihood which should guide future leaders
if the country is to overcome the scourge of corruption and make developmental
and progress.”
The lecture took the students
through an enlightenment
journey on the Commission’s mandate, structure, operations as
well as answers to Frequently Asked Questions about the EFCC.
While speaking on the topic, “The Risk of Fraud and
Cybercrimes,” CSE Umar Mohammed, Head Cybercrime Section, Kaduna
Zonal Directorate explored the nature, red flags and the ills
of cyber crimes. He condemned the increasing involvement of
youths in cyber crimes and enlightened the new intakes on
safety standards against antics of cyber criminals.
