Over 80 Caddies Tee-Off At BCGS Captain’s Inaugural Golf Tournament Today

As the Benin Club Golf Section (BCGS) 2025 Captain’s Inaugural Golf Tournament tees-off today through Saturday, May 3rd in Benin-City, over 80 caddies are expected to storm the golf course for the caddies category.

Today’s caddies event is featuring junior boys and girls, as well as the senior boys and girls category in order to showcase their golfing skills on the course whereby winners and runners-up will emerge at the end of the day.

The four days golfing activities is being packaged by the Club Captain, Engr. Stephen Ebaretonbofa in conjunction with the BCGS Management Committee as part of activities to usher in the new Captain into the full fledge administration of the club.

However, according to the tournament programme of activity made available to Newsnigeriaonline.com.ng, tomorrow’s event is set aside for the Professional golfers coming across the country to exhibit their golfing prowess on the green lush course.

Also, Friday tournament will be featuring veteran men’s and ladies category while men’s hcp 13 – 28, and ladies hcp 19 -36 will also take the centre stage on the course respectively.

Similarly, the grande finale on Saturday will be another busy moment as tournament tees-off with men’s hcp 1 – 12, and ladies hcp 1 -18, as well as guest men’s and ladies category. The ceremonial tee-off by the BCGS Captain alongside captains from other clubs, past captains and many others holds in the morning too.

In the same vein, the dinner and presentation of trophies and other exotic prizes to winners and runners-up in various categories will commence from 6pm.

Meanwhile, golf clubs that have signified interest to be part of the inaugural tournament history include UBTH Golf Club, Benin City. Ibori Golf and Country Club (IGCC), Asaba; NNPC-Ogunu Golf Resort, Warri, and Sapele Athletic Club Golf Section, Delta State.

Others include Ikoyi Golf Club, Lagos; IBB Golf and Country Club, Abuja; Ibadan Golf Club, Oyo State, Port-Harcourt Golf Club, Rivers State; Ibom Golf and Country Club, Akwa Ibom State; Ilorin Golf Club, Kwara and amongst.
