Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno has extended
heartfelt gratitude to President Bola Tinubu and Nigerians for their
overwhelming love, support, and prayers during this period of mourning for his
late wife, Pastor Patience Eno.
The governor, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party
(PDP), expressed his appreciation during a service of songs held in honor of
his late wife at his country home in Ikot Ekpene Udo, Nsit Ubium Local
Government Area. The event was part of the funeral ceremonies organized to
celebrate the life of the former First Lady.
In his remarks, Governor Eno acknowledged the kindness
and generosity shown by President Tinubu, despite political differences, and
commended Nigerians for their unity and compassion during this challenging
time.
Several dignitaries attended the event to pay their
respects, including the immediate past Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Udom
Emmanuel, and his wife, Martha Emmanuel. Their presence underscored the deep
connections Pastor Patience Eno had fostered within the Akwa Ibom community and
beyond.
Pastor Patience Eno passed away on September 26 after
a brief illness, leaving behind a legacy of faith and service. Known for her
humility and devotion, she was a pillar of strength for her family and an
inspiration to many in the state.
As the funeral ceremonies continue, tributes have
poured in from across the nation, reflecting the profound impact she had on
those who knew her. Governor Eno has called for continued prayers for his
family and the people of Akwa Ibom as they navigate this period of loss.
