President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has nominated Dr.
Musa Doro for a ministerial appointment and has formally requested the
Senate’s confirmation of his nomination.
The development was announced in a statement on
Tuesday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy,
Bayo Onanuga, who revealed that the president’s letter has been
transmitted to the Senate for consideration.
It remains unclear which portfolio Dr. Doro will
oversee if confirmed. He hails from Plateau State, the same state as Nentawe
Yilwatda, who was recently elected National Chairman of the All
Progressives Congress (APC) in July. Yilwatda had previously served as Minister
of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction.
A Seasoned Professional with Diverse
Experience
Born on January 23, 1969, in Kwall, Bassa
Local Government Area of Plateau State, Dr. Doro boasts over two decades
of professional experience spanning healthcare, pharmaceutical management,
leadership, and community development — both in Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
He holds degrees in Pharmacy and Law, as
well as an MBA with a specialization in IT-driven business strategy.
In addition, he earned a Master’s degree in Advanced Clinical Practice.
Dr. Doro is an Independent Prescriber and Advanced
Clinical Practitioner with the United Kingdom’s National Health Service
(NHS), where he has worked in urgent care, general practice, walk-in
centres, and hospital settings.
Beyond his medical career, Doro has also been active
in youth mentorship and social impact initiatives, contributing
to community development efforts both within the diaspora and at home in
Nigeria.
Mr. Onanuga stated that President Tinubu expects the
Senate to give the nomination prompt and thorough consideration, noting
that Dr. Doro’s wealth of experience aligns with the administration’s ongoing
reform and service delivery goals.
