In preparation for the forthcoming construction of a mini sports facility tagged 'ENGR. A.A. SULE LEGACY MULTI-PURPOSE MINI SPORTS STADIUM' in Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, the House Committee Chairman on Youth and Sports Development at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon.Garba Mohammed Isimbabi, on Tuesday, received representatives of civil engineering construction Company, TRT Nigeria Limited, led by the Organization's Operational Manager, Engr. Johnny Nassar, at his office located inside the Assembly's Complex in Lafia, the State Capital.

The meeting was aimed at facilitating dialogue and ensure seamless project execution.

Leading the delegation to the office of the Right Honourable Speaker of the House of Assembly, the Toto/Gadabuke State Constituency Member said the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, had graciously approved the siting of a mini legacy sports stadium in Toto after he had approached him with the proposal.

"The Right Honourable Speaker, I am here with the representatives of TRT Nigeria Limited, the Company that we are proposing will execute the construction of a mini legacy sports stadium in honour of the Governor in Toto Local Government Area.

"In my recent meetings with the Governor, he gave me an idea of the kind of facility he wants as mini sports stadium.

"So, I got across to this Company through the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development led by the Honourable Commissioner, and they have been to the site, taken feasibility studies, and are here with the prototype design and other valuable details that we will present to the Governor.

"From my conversation with the Company's representative and through background findings, I am optimistic that they will put up a nice edifice that will stand the test of time and meet globally acceptable standard as well as be replicated in other five proposed centres across the State", Isimbabi stated.

The Speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, while responding to the remarks of the House Committee Chairman on Youth and Sports Development, applauded him for his foresight.

"Sport is a vital unifying force that brings people together, irrespective of the differences.

"As an Assembly and your colleagues, we will do our best to ensure that this proposed project is given the desired and speedy attention, and completed within the stipulated timeframe because it is for the overall development of the State and to remember the legacy of the Governor", the Speaker remarked.

He appealed that the proposed contractor carry out a standard job to build trust and confidence, going forward.

Speaking earlier, Nasarawa State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Jafaru Ango, who led the team to the Assembly Complex, disclosed that the Ministry is working with a company that has the capacity and wherewithal to meet the mandate and requirements of Governor Abdullahi Sule in view of the construction of modern sports infrastructure in the State.

"There are six proposed Mini Stadia to be built across the State by the Governor Sule-led administration, including in Toto, Uke(Karu), Gudi(Akwanga), Doma, Awe, Garaku(Kokona) and Keffi respectively.

"TRT Nigeria Limited have passion in Nasarawa State and have high regards for the Governor Abdullahi Sule-led administration, therefore are looking forward to executing these legacy projects within a short period of time to add to the Governor's gigantic strides, particularly in the sports sub-sector.

"They are here to get both your support, Mr. Speaker, and that of the Assembly members, to successfully carry out these tasks."

Operational Manager, TRT Nigeria Limited, Engr. Johnny Nassar, thanked the Speaker and his members for granting him audience, and promised that his Organization would deliver a world-class facility in Toto, if all things go well.

"Thank you for receiving me and my team, Mr. Speaker.

"I also thank the Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development who has been going up and down with us to get things right.

"We are here to support and work hand-in-hand with the administration of Governor Abdullahi Sule and all the key stakeholders for the development of the State.

"We won't compromise on our standard as we will do the job according to specifications and within the stipulated timeframe.

"We have a long-standing reputation in civil engineering and project completions in Nigeria and around the world. Check our profile in the Niger Delta Area and other parts of Nigeria, and you will see for yourselves what we stand for", he said.

The proposed mini sports stadia will provide state-of-the-art facilities for various sports, including Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Tennis, Badminton, Handball and other indoor games.

The proposed projects are expected to boost sports development, promote youth engagement, and enhance recreational opportunities for residents of the host communities, Nasarawa State and neighbouring locations.

The scope of work for the 500-seater Toto mini sports facility include construction of a standard football pitch, changing rooms, multi-purpose sports court, restaurant, and shops.

Also in attendance at the meeting at the Speaker's office were Hon.
