The Governor of Lagos State and Chairman of the
South-West Governors Forum, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has congratulated Biodun
Oyebanji on his resounding victory in Saturday’s governorship election in Ekiti
State.
Sanwo-Olu’s congratulatory message was conveyed in a
statement issued on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity,
Gboyega Akosile.
The Lagos governor praised the people of Ekiti State
for the peaceful conduct of the election and for reaffirming their support for
the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) at the polls.
He described Oyebanji’s victory across all 16 local
government areas of the state, where he secured 83.54 percent of the total
votes cast, as a clear indication of the governor’s popularity and the
widespread acceptance of the APC among Ekiti residents.
Sanwo-Olu urged the re-elected governor to remain
committed to delivering more developmental projects and democratic dividends to
the people of the state during his new term in office.
As a member of the APC National Campaign Council for
the Ekiti governorship election, led by Uba Sani, Sanwo-Olu also commended Bola
Tinubu for providing leadership and direction through the administration’s
Renewed Hope Agenda, which he said is driving the nation’s socio-economic
transformation.
The governor further applauded APC leaders and members
at the national, state, local government, and ward levels for their unity,
dedication, and hard work, which contributed significantly to the party’s
electoral success in Ekiti State.
“I congratulate my dear brother, Governor Biodun
Oyebanji, on his victory in the governorship election. I also congratulate his
deputy, Mrs. Monisade Afuye, on her re-election. This victory reflects the
confidence of the people in their leadership and the APC’s commitment to good
governance,” Sanwo-Olu said.
