SWAN Sympathises With Member Over Accident In Ivory Coast
The President, Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Otuekong Bonny Nyong, has sympathised with a member of the Association, Oyediji
Oluwaseun Babatunde, who was involved in a road accident in Ivory Coast where he is covering the ongoing African Cup of Nations.
According to reports, the accident happened with the convoy of journalists while returning from Yamussoukro to Abidjan after covering the Guinea vs. Senegal match.
Otuekong Nyong was full of gratitude to God for His mercies on Oyediji and other journalists who were injured and shocked from the accident.
The SWAN President urged the injured to ensure adequate treatment and sufficient diagnosis of any pain or injury in order to ensure proper healing.
He charged Oyediji and others not to be deterred by the temporary discomfort but continue to give adequate coverage to the Nations Cup and Nigeria’s participation in particular.
"We thank God for saving our member and others from what would have been a fatal accident, and we pray that their healing would be speedy. This is one of the risks associated with our profession, but we thank God for saving their lives," he stated.
