UROMI-The Akhigbe Ikpea family of Ukpoke Ezomo
Amedokhian with Imikhare and Ighian
royal family of Eko-Omonua,Ebhoiyi Uromi expressed their immense gratitude to
friends and well-wishers who in on way or the other contributed tremendously to
the successful burial of their mother,late matriarch, Madam,Isoa Akhigbe Ikpea
(nee Imikhare) which took place in Uromi,Edo State from 10th to 13th
April,2025.
"We really appreciate the enormous contributions
of all those who took the pains to travel to Uromi and supposed us in many ways
before, during and after the burial ceremony.
Speaking with JLN in Uromi, eldest son Mr Alex Akhigbe
Ikpea thanked all those who graced the ceremony and made it a huge success as
it was a great moment for the family of late Pa Akhigbe Ikpea.
He however
eulogises his mother whom he described as a superb confidant and basic
companion,a precious gift from God, blessed with extra ordinary strength
character, boundless, immeasurable patience and these humanistic qualities
defines whom she really was.
Pointing out
that, her beautiful African appearance was a peasantry galure Which made his
friend from Barbados,South America who met her about 40 years ago,remarked that
" he never knew that those beautiful African wood carving they see in
museums all over the world were replicals of real people"
Eldest
daughter,Mrs Comfort... said her mother lived and left this sinful a fufilled
being with her unique love, accommodation,care, tenderness and generosity but
her spirit lives on in her heart because her mother's love was guiding spirit
which she will always carry with her till enternity.
Mr Richard
Akhigbe Ikpea said his mother was the epitome of kindness and gentleness who
made everyone feel special and loved.
She taught us
the importance of compassion,patience with understanding and that true strength
lies in the kindness of caring for others is one of most noble things to do.
Mr
JohnAkhigbe Ikpea said"my mother was an inspiring soul,who was always
there for who ever came to her with their trouble and her hospitality made them
feel at home and important as her life was a blessing to all who knew her.
While Ethel
the mummy's pet said she missed her mummy very much every second of every day
since her demise,adding,she hadn't come to terms that, she is no longer
physically here with them because she can still hear voice with her courageous
laighter which with linger on in our Herat forevermore.
The

mama as a mother of all,we ate her food and intact she took good care of us and
we will remember her forever.
Late madam
Isoa Akhigbe Ikpea the potential matriarch,a benevolently beloved and cherished
by all was born in 1934 into the
Imikhare and Ighilan Royal family of Eko-omonua , Ebhoiyi, Uromi the
administrative headquarters of Esan North East Local Government Area of Edo
State.
She got
betrothed to Pa Akhigbe Ikpea,a cocoa farmer cum transporter whose trade mark
was "Ikpea Transport" of Ukpoke-Ezomo, Amedokhian, Uromi.
She was
the second wife amongst four and was placed under the care of the first wife to
further herknowlegde in domesticology
She
supported her husband's cocoa farm with other wives and their children who were
raised without discrimination which created a harmonious family where all children were saddled with the norms of
equality.
She was a
devoted Christian committed to church activities which strengthened her compassionate character.
And she was
however honoured as second most senior woman in Ukpoke Amedokhian,a title
bestowed on her as a testament .She departed to the great beyond after a brief
illness.
She was
survived with five children,many grand children and great grand children.
