They Said I Own An Estate; When They Came They Saw Each Building Has Different Designs – Ifeanyi Okowa

Former Governor of Delta State, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, has responded to allegations that he owns numerous properties and businesses, calling them baseless. In a video that was shared by Channels Television from 12.39, speaking to well-wishers about the recent investigations by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Okowa explained how these claims were proven false.

“They accused me of owning Liberty Estate,” he said. “But when investigators came, the first thing they noticed was that every building in the estate has a different design. It’s clear that the estate isn’t owned by one person.” He added that the Operatives questioned residents, who confirmed that the buildings belonged to different people.

Okowa also addressed claims that he owns a family friend’s estate in Abuja. “The estate belongs to Mommy Kachi’s son. The property was being developed even before I became a senator,” he clarified.

The accusations didn’t stop there. Okowa said he was accused of owning Premium Trust Bank and two hotels in Asaba. “When they mentioned the hotels, I couldn’t even recognize the names. I don’t know their locations because, as governor, I never needed to stay in a hotel in Asaba,” he stated.

Okowa reassured his supporters that all his assets were listed in his Code of Conduct Declaration. He urged the public not to believe false accusations, stating that he had nothing to hide . “I’ve told investigators to check everything. These claims are easily verifiable,” he said.

Okowa called the accusations “unfortunate,” expressing confidence that the truth would always prevail.
