Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey, 32, has been
hit with two new counts of sexual offences, bringing the total number of
allegations against him to six rape-related charges and one count of sexual
assault. The latest allegations involve four women, with the new incidents
reportedly dating back to 2020.
Partey is scheduled to appear at Westminster
Magistrates’ Court on 13 March for an initial hearing regarding the new
charges. These follow an earlier Metropolitan Police investigation and reports
that surfaced in August of last year.
Previously, Partey had pleaded not guilty to five
counts of rape involving two women and one count of sexual assault concerning a
third woman. He was granted conditional bail in September at Southwark Crown
Court after entering not guilty pleas to the initial charges, which are
alleged to have occurred between 2021 and 2022 during his time at Arsenal.
A trial under a High Court judge is currently
scheduled to begin on 2 November 2026.
Since leaving the Premier League, Partey has joined Villarreal
on a one-year contract, a move confirmed during the summer after he was first
charged. Partey initially joined Arsenal from Atlético Madrid for £45.3
million in October 2020, making 130 Premier League appearances under manager Mikel
Arteta.
Partey’s lawyer, Jenny Wiltshire, has reiterated that
he “denies all the charges against him” and welcomed the chance to clear his
name.
