Tottenham Hotspur have parted ways with head coach
Thomas Frank following a prolonged slump in Premier League form that has left
the North London club struggling near the bottom half of the table.
Spurs currently sit 16th and are without a win in
their last eight league matches — their worst run since October 2008. The team
has managed just two victories in their previous 17 league outings, collecting
only 12 points during that stretch.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the club
confirmed the decision.
“The club has taken the decision to make a change in
the men’s head coach position and Thomas Frank will leave today,” the statement
read.
“Thomas was appointed in June 2025, and we have been
determined to give him the time and support needed to build for the future
together. However, results and performances have led the board to conclude that
a change at this point in the season is necessary.”
Frank, who previously managed Brentford, was appointed
Spurs boss in June 2025 following the dismissal of Ange Postecoglou. He signed
a contract running until 2028 but struggled to turn around the club’s domestic
fortunes.
Despite Tottenham’s impressive Champions League
campaign — where they secured automatic qualification for the round of 16 after
finishing fourth in the group stage — their league record proved costly. Spurs
have recorded seven wins, eight draws and 11 defeats in the Premier League this
season.
The club also exited both domestic cup competitions,
suffering a fourth-round League Cup defeat to Newcastle in October and a
third-round FA Cup loss to Aston Villa last month.
“Throughout his time at the club, Thomas has conducted
himself with unwavering commitment, giving everything in his efforts to move
the club forward,” the statement added. “We would like to thank him for his
contribution and wish him every success in the future.”
