The qualification of Nigeria's Flying Eagles for the
2025 African Cup of Nations on Sunday increased the number of qualified teams,
BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The defending champions defeated Niger 3-1 to reach
the final of the WAFU B tournament and also booked its place in the U20 AFCON.
The Black Satellites earlier on Sunday defeated Ivory
Coast 2-1 to qualify for the final and AFCON also.
Apart from Ghana and Nigeria, other qualified
countries include Senegal, Congo, Sierra Leone, DR Congo, Kenya, Tanzania,
South Africa and Zambia.
Two remaining teams will come from the Northern part
of Africa. Tentatively,
South Africa and Egypt are being touted to be the host
country for the competition in 2025
