SIR, HOW DO YOU FANCY YOUR CHANCES IN THE UPCOMING GOVERNORSHIP ELECTIONS IN IMO STATE?
With my little experience in politics, I know anything can happen on that day of election.Then, also looking at the reaction of people when I come out during my consultations in different parts of the state you will see the hunger for change written in the faces of the Imolites.
WHAT INTEGRAL ROLE HAVE THE WOMEN FOLK BEEN PLAYING IN YOUR CAMPAIGN AND MOBILISATION EFFORTS?
National Rescue Movement (NRM) is the only party with state chairpersons as women. States like Kogi and Anambra also have women chairpersons. These are just few of the women occupying various important positions in the party.
NRM is a party where women are respected and provided the platform to excel with no interference.
YOU ARE UP AGAINST PARTIES LIKE THE APC, PDP, LABOUR AND SO ON, WITH BETTER FUNDING FOR THEIR CAMPAIGN ACTIVITIES. HOW HAVE YOU COPED SO FAR?
My partners in the diaspora mostly South Africa have pledged $500,000. Others around the country who are ready and willing to support my campaign to any length have also been forthcoming. I will say am one lucky person to have people around the globe ready to spend their money to see Imo State rescued from the hands of these vampires.
YOU ARE AWARE THAT YOU ARE UP AGAINST AN INCUMBENT GOVERNOR SEEKING A RE-ELECTION?
Well, to tell you the truth Imolites have had enough and are ready to support a party with a clean record not all these recycled old politicians jumping from one party to the other.
YOUR PARTY IS NOT AS POPULAR AS THE APC, PDP, LP IN THE SOUTH EAST. IS THIS NOT A LIMITATION?
Permit me to correct you on this, there are other parties also but I won't be calling their names. In Anambra State, I am sure you know that none of these parties you named won there? So no party can come out as it stands now and say they can win it.
WOULD YOU THEN CONFIDENTLY SAY THAT YOUR PARTY IS ONE TO BEAT?
Most definitely we will be a party to beat come November 11. Many of the so-called big parties have already set up plans for celebration even before the election because they believe they've done enough with all the money they throw around but they'll be surprised when the Imolites make their choice.
HOW MUCH HAVE YOU INVOLVED THE YOUTHS IN YOUR CAMPAIGNS AND MOBILISATION EFFORTS SO FAR?
This is a very important question, National Rescue Movement (NRM) is a youthful party that is loved by the youths. We have been doing a door to door kind of campaign to search mostly the youths and women all around the state and the results are overwhelming. With our strategy in place, I can't wait for November 11 to come.
OVERALL, HAZARD A GUESS AS TO YOUR CHANCES, SIR?
Ultimately, it is essential to note that predicting election results with absolute certainty is challenging due to the inherent complexity of the political process and the ever-changing dynamics of voter behaviour, but we believe Imo state is for the taking judging by what we have heard our people say about their plans on election day. Expect surprises.
HOW HAVE YOU BEEN TO SURVIVE AND STILL MANAGE THE COMPLEXITIES OF ELECTORAL CAMPAIGNS IN THE FACE OF A HARSH ECONOMIC CLIMATE?
I remain positive and maintain a resilient mindset. I know setbacks and hurdles are a natural part of any journey, so I learn from failures, adapt to changing circumstances, and stay focused on my dream. I have developed resilience that helps me overcome economic challenges and stay committed to my goals.
