As the title race in the Nigeria Premier Football League NPFL intensifies, clubs across the country are battling for supremacy and survival in the top flight.

Remo Stars remain in pursuit of their first-ever NPFL title with stiff competition from defending champions Enugu Rangers, Rivers United, and a resurgent Shooting Stars. Meanwhile, newly promoted sides are fighting to secure their status in the league, adding further excitement to the season’s final stretch.

The NPFL heads into Matchday 29 with crucial fixtures that could impact the title race, continental qualification, and relegation battle.

League leaders Remo Stars will look to bounce back from their defeat to Bendel Insurance when they host struggling Heartland FC. The Sky Blue Stars remain top but must avoid further losses with Rivers United closing in. Heartland, currently in a relegation battle, will be desperate to pull off an upset.

A crucial battle in the race for continental football sees third-placed Ikorodu City host Enyimba. Ikorodu City have been in fine form, while Enyimba’s recent win over El-Kanemi Warriors kept them in contention. With just a few points separating the top teams, this game could be decisive.

In the north, Kano Pillars will aim to keep their top-three hopes alive as they face relegation-threatened Nasarawa United. Pillars need a win to stay in the hunt, while Nasarawa, on17th position, cannot afford another setback in their fight for survival.

Rivers United, unbeaten in their last four matches will take on El-Kanemi Warriors as they look to close the gap on Remo Stars. A win for the visitors could pile pressure on the league leaders, while El-Kanemi will be eager to recover from their defeat to Enyimba.
