As the epic Battle for Supremacy in both the Decision making process of the NFF which is resided in the NFF GENERAL ASSEMBLY. And the NFF's Administrative arm, the NFF Executive Committee rages on in the Law Courts. It has become imperative to actually determine the Real Owners (Stakeholders) of the Nigerian Football whose soul is the Diadem being battled for. Because the correct determination of who the Rightful Owners of our Football are? Will surely go a very long way in resolving this long drawn question of who should have the Majority Say in both the Decision making Organ of the NFF and the NFF Executive Committee.
Yes, it's no longer News that another round of debilitating crisis have again for the umpteenth time, befallen our dear Football lndustry. And this is One Face off too many that it's high time adequate attention and spotlight is brought to bear in the resolution of the issues in dispute. To pave the way for an enduring Settlement for genuine peace to return and reign in our Football lndustry. Again, it's well known that the cause of the current crisis just like the ones before it that always threaten to bring down the Roof of our Football sector. Is predicated on the 37 unlawful and undemocratic Delegates/Votes unilaterally allocated to the State Football Association against Only One Delegate/Vote to the Other Members (Clubs, Players, Coaches, and Referees) in the Governing NFF Statutes 2010.
*SLIDING* *TACKLES* has done several Columns and Articles on this matter of the Award of of clear Majority Delegates/Votes in the Composition of the Highest Decision making body of the NFF - The GENERAL ASSEMBLY in the NFF Statutes. Which the Aggrieved Stakeholders of the marginalized Other NFF Members insist was made outside the provisions of the NFF Statutes. *SLIDING* *TACKLES* in it's usual Policy of "Calling A Spade, A Spade", has continued to boldly agree with the Protesting Disgruntled Other Members of the NFF. That nowhere in the whole of the 87 Articles making up the NFF Statutes was ANY NFF MEMBER GIVEN MORE SUPERIOR STATUS AND HIERARCHY THAN THE OTHERS. And that the dictatorial Elevation of the State FAs through the Allocation of Majority Delegates/Votes in the NFF GENERAL ASSEMBLY, was Unlawful, Undemocratic and Discriminatory. And should be amended forthwith.
WHO ARE THE REAL OWNERS (STAKEHOLDERS) OF NIGERIA FOOTBALL?
Worldwide, the"Real Owners or Stakeholders are the Football sub sectors Who Reprepsent The Various Football Constituencies and Contribute Financially to it's Upkeep and Maintenance. Because, it's the Highest Contributors to any lndustry that automatically control the Decision making and Administration of the lndustry. Because it's well known and an incontrovertible fact that the Highest Shareholding Members of of a Business are the Decision makers in the Business. All the Companies l know of are All without exception controlled by it's Financial Members in both Decision making and Management. I have never come across a Corporate Business Structure that operates on Non Shareholders taking Decisions and Directing Affairs outside the Approval and Consent of the Shareholders or Stakeholders.
So, the clear Real Owners or Stakeholders of Nigeria Football are no other than the Members of the Football Constituencies who make Financial Contributions to the Development of the Football lndustry in Nigeria. The Real Owners of Nigeria Football are the Stakeholders who represent given and identified Football Constituencies and who also invest in the Football lndustry.
In Nigeria, the Real Owners or Stakeholders of the Nigerian Football lndustry Who come from the various Football Constituencies with Financial lnvestment in the lndustry are:
1. The Club Owners who form the Football Clubs that produce the Players who are the Main Actors who play the Football Match that is the essence of the Football lndustry. The Club Owners are represented by their Club Owners Association.
2. The Players who come from the Players Constituency and who are the Major Actors who play the Football Matches that attract the interest and funds of both the Fans and the Corporate bodies to the Football lndustry. The Players are represented by their Players Union.
3. The Coaches who come from the Coaches Constituency and who are the people that train and coach the Players who are the Major Actors of the Football lndustry. The Coaches are represented by their Coaches Association.
4. The Referees who come from the Referees Constituency and are the people who officiate the Football Matches organised by the Club Owners and played by the Players produced by the Clubs and tutored by the Football Coaches. The Referees are represented by their Referees Association.
5. The Supporters who come from the Supporters Constituency and are the engine room of the Football who are the segment that atract the interest of the Corporate bodies with their massive Marketing Appeal. The Supporters are represented by their various Supporters Clubs Associations.
So, from the foregoing analysis of the sub sectors of the Football lndustry and the various Constituencies they represent. It's clear Who The Real Owners/Stakeholders of the Nigerian Football lndustry are? They are the Members of the sub sectors and their Constituencies listed above. And they are supposed to have the clear Majority of Delegates/Votes in the Decision making body of the NFF, THE NFF GENERAL ASSEMBLY. The State FAs who currently have the Majority Delegates/Votes in the NFF GENERAL ASSEMBLY, is a misnomer and an abnormality. The State FAs are not the Real Owners or Stakeholders of Nigeria Football and should not be saddled with Decision making and Management of Nigerian Football for whatever reason. Because, the State FAs have no Football Constituency or do they make any Financial input to the Organisation of Football in Nigeria.
The State FA is just a mere Administrative lnstitution akin to an ordinary Secretariat constituted by the Real Owners or Stakeholders of Nigeria Football to ease their operations administratively to colate and regulate their Programmes. So, the State FA is just like the Civil Service Ministries whose functions are only to serve the needs of the Owners or Stakeholders. The State FA is only a Messenger and Liason Officer of who is used to transmit and facilitate smooth Communication between the Real Owners of the Football lndustry and the NFF who are the Governing body of Football in the country. It's therefore unconscionable and abnormal for the State FAs who are Servants of the Club Owners, Players, Coaches, Referees and Supporters to takeover the Decision making and Administration of Football from the Stakeholders.
This anomaly of the Servants (State FAs) bulldozing into the Kingmaker of the NFF using the obnoxious Elevation of the NFF Statutes is the Main Cause of the steady nosedive of our Football since the unfortunate Amendment was effected in favour of the Non Contributory State FAs. It's the Unlawful and Undemocratic Discriminatory award of the Majority Delegates/Votes to the State FAs by the NFF Statutes for the dismal slide of our Football from grace to grass. Because, the State FAs should never be incharge of the Decision making and Administration of our Football which they don't represent any Constituency or make any Financial Contribution to.
SLIDING* *TACKLES* shall continue to insist that that the State FAs are NOT ENTITLED TO ANY VOTING RIGHTS in the NFF GENERAL ASSEMBLY. Because the State FAs are neither True Members of the NFF as they don't represent any Constituency in Nigeria Football. Or are the State FAs Financial Members of the NFF as they contribute nothing to the running of the lndustry. And it's on these 2 Membership Validity conditions that people are accorded Voting Privileges in every Association or Organisation. It's well known that in every Association, Only Financial Members are given Voting Rights. And here in our Football, the State FAs did not meet any of the 2 Conditions of having a Constituency or being a Financial Member. So, the State FAs should at Best be accorded Observer Status at the Meeting of the NFF GENERAL ASSEMBLY. Giving the State FAs, Voting Privileges is a clear abnormality that should be Rectified immediately without any further Delay.
Let the Club Owners, Players, Coaches, Referees and Supporters who play a Direct role in the functioning of the Programmes of our Football lndustry. And who represent identified Constituencies and Financial lnvestment in the lndustry be allowed to take the Decisions that determine their fate and that of their Investments. This is how it's done everywhere that He Who Pays The Piper, Dictates The Tune. The Real Owners (Stakeholders) of our Football Who have been identified here are the Payers of The Piper. And they should be allowed to dictate the Tune and Tone of the Direction of our Football. The Real Owners have been faced with this kind of Trespass by some lnvaders in the past. SLIDING TACKLES was there at that time. And will in the Next subsequent Article to be titled - "HOW THE REAL OWNERS (STAKEHOLDERS) CAN TAKE BACK THEIR FOOTBALL". Reveal the Strategy that was deployed by the Nigerian Football Real Owners/Stakeholders in shoving the lnvaders away and reclaiming Nigeria Football.
