Mudashiru Obasa, the former speaker of the Lagos State
House of Assembly, has taken his fight for reinstatement to court. In a lawsuit
filed in Ikeja at the Lagos State High Court, the lawmaker from Lagos is
requesting an immediate return to his position as head of the state’s House of
Assembly. Obasa was wrongfully ousted as Lagos Speaker, according to the
lawsuit, which was filed on February 14, 2025. He is now a defendant along with
the Assembly and the current Speaker, Lasbat Mojisola Meranda.
