Egyptian football legend Tarek Mostafa has singled out
Nigerian defender Emmanuel Chukwu as one of the standout young talents to watch
following the conclusion of the 2025 U20 Africa Cup of Nations.
Chukwu impressed throughout the tournament, playing a
pivotal role in Nigeria's strong defensive unit.
He formed a formidable partnership with Daniel Bameyi
at the heart of the Flying Eagles' defence, helping the team concede just two
goals throughout the competition.
His consistent performances were instrumental in
Nigeria’s third-place finish, which they secured after a 4-1 penalty shootout
victory over hosts Egypt.
The result also ensured Nigeria booked one of the four
available spots for the upcoming U20 FIFA World Cup.
In addition to Chukwu, Mostafa also highlighted
several other promising young players from the tournament, including Othmane
Maamma (Morocco), Momoh Kamara (Sierra Leone), Thanbang Mahlangu (South
Africa), and Cheikh Tidiane Thiam (Senegal).
