Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Bala
Aneke, on Saturday paid a compassionate visit to the two Nigerian Air Force
(NAF) Alpha Jet pilots who sustained injuries after safely ejecting from their
aircraft during a post-inspection test flight in Niger State.
The pilots—commended across the Force for their
exceptional skill and bravery—were receiving medical care when the Air Chief
arrived at the hospital. Air Marshal Aneke praised their quick decision-making,
professional handling of the emergency, and flawless execution of survival
procedures.
According to an official NAF statement, the Alpha Jet
developed an in-flight emergency shortly after takeoff, forcing the pilots to
eject in accordance with standard safety protocols. Their swift action
prevented loss of life and ensured there was no collateral damage on the
ground.
In a related show of solidarity, the Chief of Defence
Staff (CDS), Lt.-Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, and the Chief of Defence Intelligence
(CDI), Maj.-Gen. Emmanuel Undiandeye, also visited the injured airmen to
commend their gallantry and composure under pressure.
The visit by the Service Chiefs underscores the
professionalism within the Nigerian Air Force and highlights the priority
placed on the safety and welfare of personnel.
