The political and social landscape of Lagos has been
thrown into mourning following the passing of Ambode Akinsoji Ademola,
popularly known as Dodo. He died in the early hours of Friday, January 31,
2025, in Sugar Land, Texas, USA, leaving behind a legacy of service,
leadership, and strong community ties.
At the forefront of the bereaved family is his devoted
wife, Tamara A. Edward Ambode, who now leads their children—Akindele, Bunmi,
and Bola Ambode—in mourning the loss of a beloved husband and father.
A dedicated politician and grassroots mobilizer,
Ambode Akinsoji Ademola was a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress
(APC) and a well-respected figure in Ijede, Ikorodu. Throughout his lifetime,
he remained deeply involved in political affairs, championing development
initiatives and working to strengthen the party’s influence in Lagos State. His
contributions to community development and governance were widely acknowledged,
particularly within Ikorodu, where he was held in high esteem.
He was also the brother of former Lagos State
Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, a connection that further highlighted his
deep-rooted influence in the political sphere. The Ambode family has long been
recognized for its contributions to governance and public service in Lagos, and
his death marks the end of an era for many who looked up to him as a pillar of
leadership.
Tributes have begun pouring in from party members,
