Suspected bandits have abducted 10 people during a
late-night attack in Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The incident occurred in Unguwar Sabon-Titi, along the
Katari–Hayin Dam axis, on Thursday night, leaving residents in shock.
Attack Targets Family and Neighbours
According to local sources, the attackers stormed a
residential compound and abducted seven members of a single family.
They reportedly proceeded to a nearby house, where
three additional residents were also taken.
Quiet Operation Turns Violent
Eyewitnesses said the gunmen initially operated
silently, likely to avoid drawing attention due to the proximity of a police
facility.
However, gunshots were reportedly fired after the
victims had been taken away from the area.
Residents Raise Alarm
A community member confirmed the attack, explaining
that the assailants arrived in large numbers and surrounded the houses before
carrying out the abduction.
Another local leader said attempts to contact security
personnel at the time of the incident were unsuccessful.
Security Agencies Begin Search
A security source disclosed that operatives have
commenced search operations, combing nearby forests in an effort to locate the
victims and rescue them safely.
Community in Distress
Neighbours and sympathisers have gathered at the
affected homes to support the families, as fear and tension continue to grip
the community.
