Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State has called on
residents to observe a statewide day of fasting and prayer in response to the
worsening insecurity in the North-Eastern state.
Speaking during a broadcast on Saturday, Governor
Zulum said the initiative is intended to seek divine guidance and support for
peace amid the escalating security challenges.
“As a people of faith, we believe our security
strategies must be underpinned by prayer. I hereby declare Monday, 24th
November 2025, as a Statewide Day of Fasting and Prayer for the restoration of
peace in Borno State and the country,” he stated.
The governor urged all residents, irrespective of
their faith, to participate in the day of prayer for the lasting peace and
prosperity of both Borno State and Nigeria.
Governor Zulum emphasized that collective prayer and
fasting could strengthen communal faith and provide relief to the state,
reinforcing the importance of spiritual solidarity in addressing the ongoing
security crisis.
