Chelsea F.C. and West Ham United F.C. have been fined £325,000 and £300,000 respectively following a stoppage-time confrontation during their Premier League clash in January.

The incident occurred at Stamford Bridge after Chelsea forward Joao Pedro reacted angrily to a shove from West Ham winger Adama Traore on defender Marc Cucurella. Players from both teams became involved in heated exchanges, with West Ham defender Jean-Clair Todibo receiving a straight red card from referee Anthony Taylor for grabbing Joao Pedro by the neck after a VAR review.

The Football Association charged Chelsea for failing to control their players’ behaviour and West Ham for not preventing improper, provocative, or violent conduct. Both clubs admitted the charges.

An independent regulatory commission also took into account past breaches of FA Rule E20.1, which prohibits behaviour that is improper, offensive, violent, threatening, abusive, insulting, or provocative, before determining the fines.
