Chelsea climbed into the Premier League’s top four on goal difference after squandering an early lead in their 1-1 draw with Burnley FC at Stamford Bridge on February 21, 2026. Joao Pedro’s fourth-minute opener put Chelsea ahead, but the Blues failed to capitalize on their dominance, especially after Wesley Fofana was sent off in the 72nd minute for a second yellow card.

Burnley’s Zian Flemming headed in a corner in the 93rd minute, keeping the relegation-threatened Clarets’ hopes alive and bringing them within eight points of safety.

Elsewhere, Aston Villa continued their inconsistent run with a 1-1 draw at Villa Park. Anton Stach gave Leeds United a spectacular 40-yard free-kick lead, but Tammy Abraham equalized two minutes from time to rescue a point.

In other highlights, James Milner set a new Premier League record with 654 appearances as Brighton & Hove Albion secured a 2-0 win over Brentford FC. Goals from Diego Gomez and Danny Welbeck gave the Seagulls their first victory in seven games.

The title race remains tense, with Manchester City FC able to close to within two points of leaders Arsenal FC when they host Newcastle United on Saturday. Arsenal will face local rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the north London derby on Sunday, keeping the Premier League drama alive.
