DELTA: Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff
Oborevwori, has urged the newly inaugurated leadership of the Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP) in the state to focus on attracting opposition members
to strengthen the party ahead of future elections.
Oborevwori made the call on Sunday during a
thanksgiving service for Chief Emman Amgbaduba, the Delta South PDP Chairman,
at the Living Faith Church in Udu.
Represented by his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme, FCA, the
governor emphasized the benefits of political unity under the PDP.
"Delta is PDP, and PDP is Delta State. We must
work to bring back those in other political parties into the PDP. Deltans stand
to gain more if we are united under one umbrella. A single broomstick is easy
to break, but a bundle of brooms is unbreakable."
The governor highlighted his administration's
achievements under the MORE Agenda, which focuses on delivering more roads,
bridges, and employment opportunities across the state.
"We came into government with a promise to
deliver MORE for Deltans, and by God’s grace, we are witnessing more
development, employment, and infrastructure projects. Delta is a praying state,
and that is why things are working well for us," Oborevwori said.
"I congratulate Chief Amgbaduba on his emergence
as PDP Delta South Chairman. It is commendable that he acknowledges all power
belongs to God. Together, we will achieve greater heights for our party and the
state."
Delivering a sermon, Pastor Kolawole Oniwinde
encouraged Christians to remain joyful, emphasizing that joy fosters good
health and divine presence. He urged believers to sustain their faith and hope
in God.
